TNS acquires BornTec’s hosting and co-location business

Transaction Network Services (TNS) has acquired BornTec’s managed hosting and co-location business.

BornTec is a Chicago-based fintech company, specialising in post-trade services.

As part of the mandate, BornTec’s managed hosting customers will have the opportunity to upgrade to TNS’ Layer 1 and will have trading access to TNS’ global exchange community.

TNS offers a range of connectivity, co-location, cloud, market data and virtual private network solutions within its infrastructure as a service portfolio.

TNS’ customer portfolio includes exchanges and trading venues, buy and sell-side institutions, market data vendors, software developers and cloud service providers.

Its solutions are monitored by TNS’ Network Operations Centers in the US, UK, Australia and Malaysia.

Derek Haworth, CEO of BornTec, says: “This divestiture allows us to sharpen our focus on our industry-leading CrossCheck trading data analytics platform, bringing us to the forefront of at-trade and post-trade operational resilience, data intelligence and automation.”

Tom Lazenga, general manager of financial markets at TNS, comments: “BornTec is a capital markets visionary, and this acquisition fits seamlessly into TNS’ managed hosting strategy that we embarked on five years ago.”
