Standard Chartered Bank and Sanlam Investment Management have joined Strate’s fully digital e-Voting platform.
The web-based platform allows South African and foreign incorporated companies to hold digital shareholder meetings, connecting issuers and investors throughout the proxy voting process.
Eight asset managers are currently using e-Voting, as Strate continues to develop its presence in the South African financial market ecosystem.
Dewald du Toit, managing director of Sanlam Investment Management, says: “Sanlam investments continuously strives to optimise and automate our processes. The e?voting platform allows us to participate, vote real time, and amend votes at any time before a meeting closes. In collaboration with our CSDPs, e-voting allows us to seamlessly, and within a legally binding process, vote on securities in the public and private markets.”
