SS&C has announced improvements to its Black Diamond wealth management platform.

The cloud-based platform combines portfolio management, reporting, client communication and rebalancing capabilities. The new functionalities are intended to better support advisor-client relationships and to improve productivity.

New configurable reporting tools allow advances reporting on fixed-income and alternative investments, as well as projected income reporting and net worth reporting. There is also a new home page available for easier reporting, including a customised dashboard of content.

A new presentation mode also allows advisors to interact better with their clients, combining Black Diamond data and content from other systems.

Agendas, market commentaries, financial plans, and other files can be displayed in one location, and these can be notated and time-stamped in to a clients’ history for easy access in the future.

These changes are intended to reduce the time required for preparing meetings and to help advisors deliver presentations, and allow advisors to better tailor presentations to their clients.

Existing Black Diamond clients will participate in staggered rollout of the upgrades.

Dave Welling, senior vice president and managing director of SS&C’s Advent Advisory Market Group, said: “Over 750 advisors and wealth managers rely on Black Diamond every day to provide their clients with a comprehensive wealth view that focuses on progress to long-term goals and clarity on how the advisor is protecting and building wealth.”

He added: “The new capabilities help advisors demonstrate the value they are adding and to engage in meaningful dialogue with their clients.”
