BlockFi launches new institutional service

BlockFi is to launch BlockFi Institutional Services, a service designed to give market-makers, funds, exchanges, and family offices access to financing solutions for digital assets.
BlockFi Institutional Services provides financing solutions that allow clients access to cryptocurrencies for executing trading strategies and hedging their positions.
BlockFi Institutional Services capabilities include daily position and trade activity reporting, communications security, and integrations with service providers such as administrators, custodians, and auditors.
BlockFi has appointed Rene van Kesteren as head of the institutional services team.
Kesteren joined BlockFi as an advisor in 2017 before taking on the role of chief risk officer in 2018.
Kesteren has more than 20 years’ experience working with institutional clients and developing solutions across lending, derivatives, market-making, and private wealth management.
BlockFi has also hired Jessica Raybeck as head of institutional client relationship management.
Jessica joins BlockFi from Nomura, where she was vice president, working closely with institutions across all of their needs in her role as part of the senior relationship management team.
In addition, Yev Feldman has joined BlockFi as director of institutional risk and trading. He joins from Bank of America Merrill Lynch where he worked in equity derivatives structuring and sales since 2011.
